Entering my clinical fellowship year I felt prepared not only to treat with evidence based practice, but also equipped with the skills to apply knowledge to new areas of assessment and treatment.
How did your program at Biola prepare you for your career?
Biola's program exposed me to a vast range of disorders and settings a speech pathologist may encounter. Entering my clinical fellowship year I felt prepared not only to treat with evidence based practice, but also equipped with the skills to apply knowledge to new areas of assessment and treatment.
What did you appreciate most about your time at Biola?
The faculty relationships, competence, attention to details, and care for students. Every professor joyfully created time to assist me with a topic I was struggling with, and helped me be my most successful.
How did Biola equip you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?
Being a Christian professional across settings was woven into each course at Biola. I now apply lessons on faith based professionalism and advocacy both in my work and in my service at church. Classes such as Theology of Disability helped create a framework of my own theology in this profession.
What advice would you give to students considering your degree program?
Graduate school success is built primarily on faculty-student relationships. Choose a program where students speak well of its faculty, you will find this at Biola.
